Alrighty, then... first and foremost... January 1st, it's happening again,
folks. I will be tossing caution and pasties to the wind and hoping that I can be voted in to the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly weekender! I had to say, I waffled, but the minute I found out the king of all rockabilly himself was going to be performing... that star of stars himself. Mr. Jerry Lee Lewis was headlining... I just had to do it, I had to take it as a sign. I have loved him since I could wear shoes and boogie folks, so bear with me this month. It's gonna be quite a ride. I have a new video being put together by the good Professor, with the blessing of Blair Crimmins himself. I have a good feeling about it this year, ya'll so I hope to count on your support and love!
January 1st, I perform for the good Davenports to ring in the new year!
Attention Pilots of Airships and their Crews, Mad Scientists, Explorers of the Unknown, Admirers of Verbosity, Respecters of the Strange, Those Lost in the Throes of Opium or Absinthe, Teetotalers, Scallywags, Ladies and Gentlemen, Dandies, Fops, and Urchins...
The next event will be on NEW YEAR’S EVE: Friday December 31st, 2010. Hosted by the Davenport Sisters & guest DJ Doctor Q (Mechanical Masquerade; Atlanta, GA). Featuring musical performance by Curtis Eller & burlesque by the incomparable Talloolah Love.
Jazz, Blues, Swing, Dark Cabaret, Gypsy Punk, & Dance music from times gone by or times that never were. ((heheh... apparently I am incomparable
Let's not forget! I host the Atlanta Burlesque and Cabaret Club Meetings the first Wednesday of every month! Keep a-breast about upcoming topics and issues facing the community here:
I have the Holidazed and Confused show with Blast off Burlesque, that show goes off January 14th and 15th, and is brought to you by those zaney awesome people who brought you Stimulus Package, and most recently, The Masters of Vaudeville. A well attended show at The Eyedrum a few weeks ago that was simply fantastic! With these talented folks, plus Onca O'Leary, plus THE Armitage Shanks... how could you possibly go wrong?
And my DEAR Armitage, in his brilliance had the perfect plant... that was never
*planned! What I loved about this show.. well.. was everything. Really the best show I have seen in a long time. Gripping from beginning to end!
But I digress, this is supposed to be about the future, is it not? ALSO... because one big debut wasn't enough for one month.
I assisted in the production and the writing of The Search for the Golden Sprocket that goes off on the 14th:
This stars and features some of my absolute FAVORITE people in the business of being amazing. I know... I know, there's a conflict, BUT The sprocket goes off Friday night. Then, there's two COUNTEM... TWO shows on Saturday. You could make it an entire weekend of awesome and intriguing entertainment! What more could you ask for!?!?! Please make an effort to go to both of them, they are absolutely fabulous! You won't regret it!
UGH!!! I have run out of time! I have a lot more to talk about for February, darlings! Stay tuned! Love to my lovelies!
